Hi!

Wow! It's definitely been a while. As for a reason I stopped blogging- well, I don't have one. But now, here I am, being a blogger! I hope my five followers will be pleased (two of whom are family and one is myself). I plan to start my blog over I guess and practice writing, because I think I'm pretty good at it. As for the name, it's changed from Fifth Grader to Sixth Grader. Soon it will be seventh grader, but I'll save that for later.
I wondered why Flamingos are pink, so I just asked my trusty old friend Google. Anyway, the answer is because they eat so much shrimp. But how do boy flamingos feel about that? Although pink is often thought of as girly or feminine, I like to think of it as a neutral color. I like to think of everything that way. Boys can like pink just as much as girls can like soccer or the color green. Those aren't necessarily masculine things, but they are allowed to like them! Its just like the constant naming of people into two groups-Tom Boy and Girly Girl. Id like to become myth buster for a minute and see if these things are legit.
First of all, wearing the color pink and not liking sports are common traits of a so-called "girly girl." But if a boy does no sports and and wears black shoes with pink highlights does this make him girly? Taylor Swift is a girl, but if you like her music then does that make you girly? If a girl plays sports and wears darker colors and sweatshirts all the time, how does that make them a tom boy? If what people are trying to say is Tom=Boyish, then what does that mean when a girl calls themselves a Tom Girl? Boyish Girl? I'm just trying to say you should take pride in who you are and not try so hard to classify yourself as one or the other. Please feel free to put your thoughts in the comment box below. ;)
